Rear Driver Side Freeze Plug
Rear Driver Side Freeze Plug
I'm in the process of having an Evo I just purchased and modified tuned and blew a freeze plug on the driver side of the rear of the block. I have read many threads about people blowing out freeze plugs but they always seem to be blowing out a different plug than I blew out.
I noticed something didn't seem right when full throttle and in boost one day but wasn't getting knock so I eased the car home and checked all lines to confirm that everything was connected and all seemed good. The next day I drove around and let everything warm up and the first time I did a WOT pull I blew a freeze plug as soon as I started to build boost.
I'm curious with these freeze plug being in a different location than the ones people commonly blow if this could indicate any particular problem causing it to blow. I went ahead and ordered new head gasket and L19 head studs but I'm afraid I possibly have a problem other than the usual head gasket causing blown freeze plugs.
