Evo 9 turbo from blown motor

My question here fellas is can I buy 9 turbo from blown motor? Is it safe or better keep looking? I don't know what exactly happened to the motor but guy is selling this turbo for $500.the guy says no shaft play and it's from 40K miles car.thanks all.

IMO it is risky but if it were to come from a running car I would pay up to $350.

Thanks for quick response. The guy says
It blew up in 2nd gear at 2800 rpm But you I'll never know the truth.

If he selling his for $500 then mine is pretty cheap for brand new no miles for $850.

You could low ball him then send it out to TurboLab for a rebuild just for piece of mind. Generally when you have a catastrophic engine failure you replace everything the oil goes through.
