9180 vs 6466 vs HTZ86

The rings are starting to fade out on my 2.3. So I will be selling the crank, getting a stock one and reverting back to the 2.0. I will also be getting rods and different pistons. My main issue is choosing a turbo that will get me to my goal: ~650WHP on a Mustang dyno, on 93, with methanol, on a reliable non-aggresive tune on stock ECU. The car is my daily driver and will continue to be that way for as long as I have it.

Lag really isnt that much of a concern to me, but I'm seeing on graphs that the EFR 9180 with the T3 Twinscroll 0.83 option looks great in spool and power delivery. Especially with the unit having a built-in BOV and internal wastegate, it's even more desirable. I'm just torn between which of the turbo's to go with in terms of how reliable they will be and how conistent they are with power. I dont want to buy an FP Black and push the living hell out of it with alot of PSI to make the power I want, I would rather have a larger turbo running a decent amount of PSI so i'm not straining the turbo or choking it out. I'm really trying to aim for a fun, conservative reliable tune in regards to the power goals.

I am also running AEM V1, and will be reverting back to stock ECU on SD.

I am also debating what CR to run on the pistons. 10:1 too much for DD?

The head will be GSC S2 (S3's are too aggresive for DD), Kiggly valvetrain, +1mm valves. May have it ported if the price is right.

Everything else on the car is built (Excedy triple, DNP header, TRE trans, axles, TCase, Diff, Magnus V5, Buschur COP, Race IC, etc, etc, etc). The only part left I have to do is the longblock.

Any input in regards to the turbos suggested or other ones is greatly appreciated.

Jake

I would do a 94mm crank with 153mm rods from English Racing. 9:1 is a good compression ratio. The small percentage of gain (5% or so) you see from a full kill tune isn't worth the head gasket issues high comp ratios can create. And on a non-kill tune, you only see a 2% gain, if that. All those turbos will def do it on E85. With gas/meth, I guess depends on how much meth you plan on running through it..

Maybe like a 30/70 set-up on Methanol. Really only need to run it when in boost.

600WHP on a Mustang would be the minimum.

I drove my friends 800WHP IX last week and I can't stop thinking about it lol.

Is T3 manifold still safe for that amount of power? or does a T4 divided set-up more required?

T3 is fine. A guy in vegas made 790whp dyno jet with the English racing 2.2slr and a FP HTA3586 at like 36-37lbs on E85. Car had all supporting motor stuff. Ported skunk 2 I/M, buschur standard mout turbo kit for tial vband turbine housing, ported head, gsc s3 cams, etc...

The nearest E85 station near me is 50 miles, opposite of my work location as well. So that's why im reverting to Methanol

It'd be nice to have a T3 V-band set-up. The HTZ86 doesnt have a V-Band option though, however, the 6466 GEN2 does. Not sure on the 9180!

Another question is knowing which .A/R is right for the turbo and the set-up on the engine. I would imagine .83 is too small for a turbo like the 6466 or HTZ86?

I guess either way I'll have to upgrade my manifold. Depending on what turbo to run (A/R size, t3/t4, twin scroll, undivided/divided) will determine the manifold I get
