Radiator fan for half rad setup

Switching over to a half rad, forward facing setup and would like to know peoples opinions on which rad/fan combo is good to go with. Car is not a daily and it gets hot and humid in the summer in NJ so I'm looking for something that can cope with NJ climate. I wanted to go with a Koyo half rad but I am open to suggestions at this point if someone has a better option. I would really like to go with a fan shroud setup if possible too.

I went with the mishimoto radiator and used my stock fan. Doesn't get any more simple than that. The stock fan moves a ton of air and is already shrouded. Yes, it may be a little heavier, but a few pounds vs cooling issues is a no brainer for me.

I just did a 1/2 mile even and coolant Temps stayed in check even with it being in the 90s

What about driving around town or better yet stop and go? I know many shops have a disclaimer stating half rad setups are pretty much designed for racing but I see so many people using them that I am wondering if this is true. Car isn't my daily but I'm just trying to get a feel for what the limitations of the setup are.

I ran half rad for some time, but wasn't comfortable with how long it was taking my car to shed the heat in ~100+ temperatures. I was literally cycling the OEM fan on for a little while with only a couple seconds break in stop/go traffic.

Went back to full size after that

Here is what I found. There are definitely better options than the stock fan available.

Using a Koyo and a SPAL/FAL fan that moves 1400CFM and has a shroud. Probably overkill. I'd have a CBRD radiator if my last one didnt melt down with the Evo that burned down.

Overkill is good when you have a half radiator setup. Did you purchase the fan/shroud combo or made a shroud?

Yes indeed!

I started with a smallish fan that pushed tons of air but was not doing the job, almost overheating.

I installed a FAL 123 :

We are in Panama were sh...t gets HOT; this baby moves air like its feeding ice to my radiator.
