2.3 ltr is fine on a 4G63 and has been done a million and one times. do a search there are loads of threads on it. for more info visit http://www.lancerregister.com . loads of guy on here have them. speak to moses he is the man (with a COOL engine just built).

I have heard that the 4G64 crank (with the proper pistons and rods) will give a 4G63 about 2.3 liters of displacement using stock cylinder bore diameters. I have also heard that the 4G64 block can be used but it has no oil squirters...

This is true. There are a few people in the UK with the 4G64 crank fitted. moses is running around 500bhp + last time i heard on one. I dont think that many are running them over in the US for some reason. i think a few 4G64 block with evo heads are in the pipe line (aka RNR) but i have not seen any of them.

Is the 4G64 crank as strong as the one in the Evo's 4G63? I do not know if ours is a forged or a cast piece.

To gain the extra .4l displacement, the 4G64 has a very slightly larger bore (4G63 is 3.347" (85.0mm), 4G64 is 3.4055"(86.5mm)), but more importantly, a much longer stroke (4G63 is 3.46" (88mm), while the 4G64 is 3.94"(100mm)). However, the 4G64 shares the same rods with the 2G 4G63T. Thus, the deck on the 4G64 is 6mm higher to compensate for the longer stroke. This is the major difference in the block. A deeper stroke means less balance at higher rpms. The 4g63 has a close ratio between bore and stroke meaning higher revs without damage. However, the 4G64 will produce more torque at the same RPM..

You can use all the hardware of the EVO on the 4g64 block but will need the 94' Galant GS timming belt and tensioner other than that is a straight forward affair..You can even use the stock EVO rods with aftermarket overbore pistons..!

what are the proper rods and pistons to go along with the 4G64 crank?

i have just over a 2.3 stroker

its a 2.4 but measured with rods and pistons brought down to a 2.3

guys it was a mistake i wanted a drag car and my budget was tight at the time and i settled for a 2.3 with rods at standard length

trust me u dont wanna do that

go for a 2.2 something like a 2159 cc same as the jun and fit longer rods and smaller pistons and trust me u will rock , u will go near 9000 revs or even 9500

do it right and bobs your uncle

and fit a bb turbo and u will rock

my next engine is gonna be like that

1.8 was an idea bros for my next engine but i changed it

im gonna go 2.2 ( 2 different engines)

and use longer rods and smaller pistons and use a massive turbo and nos , im gonna leave this engine without nos i think

1.8 was gonna be for a smaller turbo and for track use, but i changed my mind as usual

alright moses?

i would go for the 2.2 mate. plenty big enough and will let you run a smaller turbo than the one you have now. you could keep the turbo you have (is it the GT35R????) and put that on the 2.2. that would give you bags of power at the top end. and think of all the boost you could run!

you be putting in low comp pistons next mate like the Cossey boys haha!

lol no way mate low comp is b-o-l-l-o-c-k-s(****)

using low comp pistons u can loose easily over 40 bhp or more my friend

i would stick with 85 or 86.0

or even standard compression.

and mines a gt3540 modified and def with a 2.2 im gonna try to get it built so it can rev up to 9000 revs my friend.

and i have 2 different housings im gonna test bros, one for quicker spool up for track the 0.82 and then the drag housing 106 maybe use nos with that in the future.

im looking into a few more turbos mate for the next engine ,wish me luck

i do mate, i do

i was only kiddin on the comp raito.

whats the diffrence between the GT35R and a GT3540??? i thought they where similar?

does this mean if you running N2O you are still concidering a GT40???? does that come with dual ball bearings??? hehe

hows the current motor coming? not heard anything on MLR yet!

thanks mate. Chris.

PS. can you recomend any good forced induction books to read or sites to get info from?

mate gt35r is smaller, gt3540 has a gt40 compressor in it

and also u can use nos with all turbos my friend and its good to use a bigger housing with nos, more airflow and u dont need to worry about the spool up time coz nos will do the job for u quicker

then u get a gt3542 with a gt42 compressor, thats the daddy thats what marios gtr33 8.2 quarter mile aussie skyline uses but 2 of them

and mate forced induction

what do u want to know eezy peezy

u have a evo 6 right

i would use the vent and get some pipes or carbon stuff mate

and bring your induction kit down just behind the front bumper but cover the bottom side so it dont get wet , uk weather my friend

and also another way is like mines get a carbon airbox and u def need to drill holes , u mind the heat probs oor graham aka g8 had with his rally car

and also see the bit that faces the slam panel cut a 3 inch hole or 2 inch and get pipes made to fit the front ducts on the evo 6 bumpers, mines a tme bumper so i already have a hole made for pipes

that will send cold air right to the airbox baby and u will rock

and will see what info is available mate

and my car God willing mate soon , will pass the info on to u soon
