dyno numbers
No.. the dyno numbers could be right...
1st, we dont know what dyno he's using.. some reads more or less than others.. no point arguing about.. important thing is how much hp did u gain from stock?
2nd, what size downpipe and exhaust are you using? a 2.75" dp and exhaust would give u the numbers u are getting (20-30hp).. a 3" dp and exhaust should give u a lot more (30-50hp) - tuned.
3rd, your safc setting is very conservative... and about right.. if you want higher power.. u need to tune up the 3-6k range and reduce the 6-8k range but this is bringing it up pretty lean. BE CAREFUL.
If u up your boost another 2 psi.. you should see more power but your chances of detonation increases exponentially.
Hope that helps.... Post up your A/F chart and maybe we can help you push those numbers up further.

the hks dp is about 2.75 i believe- that is going into my stock cat and out to the tanabe 3in exhaust- that is why i was thinking my stock cat might be restricting it alittle but then i read what others are pulling with the same mods and am now a bit confused. as i posted eariler- i do not have my af chart so i cannot post that- if i remember correctly, when the car was tuned it was a smoth line- like steady 12.1 number- at any rate the tuner said that the way my af were these tuned afc settings leaned it out a bit in the higher rpms.

Like I said....your numbers sound like Mustang dyono numbers. I just dynoed my car Sat. on one with just a HKS dp, stock cat, 3" HKS Carbon- Ti, and HKS racing suction intake and put down 231whp and 234 trq.
That is all I have done to my car. They said that the difference between the Mustang dyno and DynoJet #'s are about a 20% difference. Figuring that, my car would be making 277whp and 280 trq.
You should be making more power.

First off....I hope you didn't pay $80 for one pull. That price if insane. I can go and do three and maybe more runs for $50. That's crazy.
It says it's a DynoJet, but something isn't right. The dyno might be reading wrong. I know the other day when I dynoed my car, there was a FWD that was on before me. They didn't switch it out somehow and my car only put down 160 whp on the dirst pull. Maybe they didn't convert it back to AWD?

Sounds pretty right on to me. If you get a high flow cat you will pick up another ~15 hp; if you lose the cat altogether you will pick up around ~30 hp. If you switch to a 3" downpipe you will pick up another 5-10 hp or so. All of these will also help you turbo spool much faster, giving you more low-midrange torque. (with stock exhaust I got full boost at about 3500rpms, with my current mods now at 2700rpms)
By changing the DP and cat that would put you right around 280hp/290tq - pretty normal for only an intake, exhaust, S-AFCII and 19psi.
Any restriction from the turbo back other than a straight-through 3" exhaust is going to hurt your power. You have a small downpipe and the stock cat (worst restriction of them all). If you need more info on how removing these restrictions really does lead to significant power increases please read the new Buschur Racing Dyno Thread.
And remember - your dyno #s don't mean a thing when compared to other people's. Only thing dyno #s are good for is tuning and confirming that you are gaining power.

That figure sounds right considering you have no sort of engine management. An AFC would not be able to give you power right away using a stock ecu. I mean in my case it didn't.
I got that figure with HKS 272 in/ex cams , exhaust manifold, 3 inch exhaust at 22 psi. I mean, tuning the AFC was so difficult cause the ecu was changing maps and also at the same time I was hitting fuel cut. Talk about being disappointed.
What I did next was really amazing, had an ecu reflash and retuned the car with AFC on the same boost netted me 320 WHP. WIth 650 cc injectors and another retune netted me 337 WHP at 11.5 A/F on pump gas. This was all on a Dynojet AWD dyno.
So, I say you need a reflash of some sort and you will be on the way.

IDK man...sounds like something is wrong. 05s have been putting out very close to that bone stock on dynojets. 03's and 04's just below that. Al got 290 whp or something on an 05 with just a reflash.
Id say either the dyno was messed up or you have a bum evo.

hks mega flow filter
hks downpipe
tanabe ultra medallion
manual boost controller(19psi)
safcII
after tuning the afc my best dyno was 244.1 and 254ft-lbs torque
I really do think that once i get a high flow cat my numbers will improve- ithink the stock cat is causing some restrictions.
any thoughts guys?

I went from stock to a hi-flow to a cat delete and I can't say this enough the stock cat sucks and so do hi-flow cats. I bet you would see a 10 to 15whp gain with a cat delete.
