help with top speed

I live in japan and own a 1993 evo 1. I was wondering if someone out there knew of a wire to cut to rid my car of it's 180 KPH speed limiter. My car gets to 180 and will travel past that if the limiter was gone. I am wondering because I'm planning on doing some track racing at the local circuit this summer. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Try disconnecting the speed sensor. Should be off the tranny.

Pal, just go to your local speed shop and by the HKS SLD: Speed Limit Defencer.

That's it

IMHO, units from Pivot, Ultra or Blitz are better, because you can see the digital readout of the speed you're travelling.

I bet your speedo reading now maxes out at 180kmh. So when you're doing say 220kmh, you won't know without the digital readout.

Personally I'm going for the Greddy unit because it's the cheapest (only 6800Yen) and Evo8 already comes with 270kmh speedo so I don't need the digital readout.

Another option would be to use the Apexi Rev Speed Meter. That has a speed limiter defeater plus G-Tech type functions.
