Acc belt snapped

So while on the highway I had my accessory belt snap. While trying to get out of the highway coolant temps shot up reaching max temp on the gauge. No coolant overflowed but what else should I look for? Did I damage anything?

Probably not. I lost a water line to the turbo once. Motor got up to about 255*, it was fine. If you didn't boil over I'm sure it's fine.

Wow that sucks. I was in rush hour traffic and pretty much at a stand still when it snapped. I exited the highway and shut the car off and let it coast down hill.

It's probably just old. How many miles did it have until it snapped?

Almost 90k on the stock one. Funny thing is I had made an appointment at RRE yesterday morning.

My OEM belt was looking tattered at 45K miles.

Lesson learned for me.

Are you sure it wasn't the Harmonic balancer's belt?
