Lower intercooler hose

Well the Evo has seen a flatbed twice in the last two days...46k miles.

Lower intercooler hose gave out. Does have aftermarket IC piping and looks like the hose was cut too short on the passenger side (the barb sits about the middle of the clamp...). Previous owner had piping installed

Anyone know where to purchase 1 passenger side lower intercooler hose? Every other damn hose is silicone but these two...it looks like some sort of rubber flex tubing.

I believe the pipes are 2.5," but I will measure in the morning. Where can I source some of these? Not into the idea of buying a Samco kit just for the lower IC hoses.

you meant LICP couplers right? One from J pipe is 1.25"-2.5" and 2.5" -2.5" to intercooler inlet.are you talking about these ?

We are selling our LICP 20% off this week. Its a complete new lower pipe, coupler and clamps. This will fix your problem.

Yes.

It's 2.5" in diameter and about 6" long with a 45 degree bend.

Thanks, but I already have full 2.5" IC piping, but this coupler looks like it was cut about 3/4" too short when it was installed. I only need this coupler.

Looks like it's the 2.5-2.5" 45* coupler.

Here's a picture. Sorry if it's huge, I'm at work and can't resize.

That is the factory coupler off the stock Intercooler. You will probably have to get that from Mitsubishi. It is an abnormal size and angle. I think HPS makes the coupler in silicone. Not sure if they will separate their kit though.

Thanks. I will be stopping by STM tonight to see if they have any laying around and if not I will be trying the Mitsu dealer.

A 2.5" 45* coupler will work there. I did that for about a year when I had ETS piping and my stock intercooler.

Loosen the coupler holding the licp to the j-pipe and try and get it fully seated into the coupler on the intercooler, then situate it into the coupler from the j-pipe. You may not need anything.

Thanks. Picked up a 2.5-2.5" 45 degree silicone coupler from STM and cut it to size. Now I just need to get rid of the ****ty stock one coming off the driver side of the IC.

Tried that, didn't last two days. The coupler was cut about an inch short. Don't understand why every other hose on this car is STM silicone but these two.
I guess that's one of the downsides of buying a previously modified vehicle.

Car is back on the road and definitely feels like less of a 46k mile ticking time bomb.

Get the same coupler for the other side, cut it to size. It'll work fine.

I had similar issues a few moths ago, I got very good at taking the front bumper off and re-attaching it before I got an upgraded IC with better couplers.

Also dude I have a B5 S4 that I'm currently in the middle of selling... and I lived in Rochester..... Are we the same person...
