Huh...this Omni issue might explain some issues I was thinking was due to the Speed Density patch it's self long ago as the jitter issues were still being worked out. I do recall large oscillations in the MAP trace that came with large injector IPW changes and large ACCEL/DECEL amounts. You get crap like that on the MAP signal with misfires so I attributed the MAP "noise" to being caused by the injector cut but I might have had the chicken happening before the egg.

Interesting...I mean, I got one of the first OMNI 4bars and was the first to identify they had wired them incorrectly and you had to swap two of the pins, which they corrected that issue quickly. Wouldn't shock me to know they had other issues.

Guess I'll pick up a different MAP at some point.

Yeah the Omni MAP sensor had me chasing my tail for a while. I even tried the jitter fixes to no avail. I'm surprised there haven't been more people chiming in with these failures seeing how popular these MPA sensors are in the Evo community.

What are you guys running instead of Omni if you're running more boost than the OEM 3 bar can read? I'm staring to wonder if the occasional drivability hiccups my car has are map sensor related.

I know it's overkill but has anyone tried the Omni 7 bar MAP sensor?

For the 7-bar MAP sensor, the sensitivity to boost as seen by the ECU is going to be roughly half of that for the 4-bar, so the load and fuel steps will be larger. The min load step will go from 0.4 KPa to 0.7 KPa. I'm not sure about the minimum fuel pulse size. The larger steps will predominantly be a problem for idle and cruise AFR control.

For the big builds, then unfortunately Omni is the only current solution.
I thought the OEM 8/9 one was an MDP not a MAP sensor so it couldn't read nearly that?

He's talking about the OEM Evo X MAP sensor. Which is the "JDM" 3 bar MAP for the 8/9's.

There may be some truth in this as I was trolling around the fp site and came across this in the TME turbo description ......

This is the EVO6.5 RS T.M.E Titanium shaft turbocharger with larger 10.5cm^2 Turbine housing. Fits all EVO4-EVO8 cars and offers a larger, less restrictive turbine housing made in A3N material that is less affected than the standard F5 material by anti-lag systems and elevated EGT's

It looks like this thread has been dead for a while. Has anyone else bought this turbo or have dyno graphs to post?

This turbo ended up being vaporware for the Evo platform.

Subaru's have this turbo, though. It's called the FP Blue.

That's what I figured. Looks like FP Red it is. Is there more noticeable lag with the red vs green? I would assume this perceived lag would be eliminated if going with a stroker engine.

I have the turbo (posted graphs early in this thread). I honestly think a stroker engine would be ABSOLUTELY bonkers with this turbo. The lag is definitely noticeable (coming from a stock turbo of course it will be) but the thing absolutely hauls to redline.

Sadly they only made 50 of them from what I read, clearing out parts I imagine.

Also for anyone reading, my Omni bar Map sensor wasn't actually the culprit, it was loose wires at the ECU .

I have one, but do not have any dyno numbers yet. FP produced just a handful from my understanding.

Sorry it is upside down, but this is the turbine housing.

It's not vaporware Eric...lol. There's just no results posted. More than a few guys in here said they had them and would post results, but never did.
