Building my bottom end. 2.3 liter options. Opinions needed
Observing my options right now, I want a fun streetable car as I never track the car nor do I plan on really doing so, I wont be making anything over 450-470 on a 71hta, but I want some headroom for the future, say 600hp capable, I'm trying to decide between the buschur kit (which includes the balance shaft delete kit) or the MAP stage 2 2.3 stroker kit, the MAP kit seems to be a good deal as its about $550 cheaper than the BR kit, and comes with I beams and wiesco HD's, which should be way more capable of 600hp. I'm not sure exactly who makes the BR pistons and rods, regardless, I would love to hear your opinion guys, What kit/ parts would you recommend, and what else do you recommend while the engine is being built? I will obviously be changing the belts pulleys and will put on a new front case and waterpump while its out on the stands, anything else that a first time evo engine builder should know and be aware of? MAP states they drill and tap the balance shaft oil supply gallery, is this a necesity if I go with the BR kit? thanks in advance guys, Just want some opinions
