SCE copper head gasket on a 2.4 questions.

Hey guys.
I've had a JE pro seal in my oem bore 2.4 at 35 psi around 770awhp for the last 4K miles. My coil went out in number 2 and by the time I caught it. It damaged the head gasket and started pushing coolant. I'm wondering if I should get another JE pro seal or Ive looked into the sce copper head gaskets and they seem to be promising?
Thanks

That je looks just like a felpro permatorque. Power enterprise makes a good gasket also.

The JE worked but I do plan on turning it up. The SCE gasket I'm looking at has a wire o-ring in it that will help seal it. Just wondering if anyone ran one on a 2.4?
I know I should just O-ring the block and get a receiver grove cut into the head and not worry about it but I don't want to pull apart the bottom end that has 4K miles on it.

Well I went ahead and ordered a SCE copper head gasket. The one with an o-ring in it. If anyone's curious how it holds up. Email me or post in here.

Hey.
I haven't even gotten a heat cycle into it. I found out my manifold cracked so I sent it out then decided to switch from top mount to forward facing. Now in the process of doing a custom Ron Davis radiator with -16 lines. I'll have info on how it holds up here in a month or two. But I have fired the car up twice for about 20-30 seconds because of no radiator and no leaks like people said I would have with the copper gasket lol.

To those that are still interested.
I have put about 100 miles on the head gasket so far. HARD 100 miles lol at 35 psi which is roughly 780awhp. No issues so far. Raced a civic that ran 10.8. Raced a g8 that ran 10.58. Seems to be holding up for now. Trans is on its way out so i wont get to drive the car much untill i put my tre stage 3 trans and a new exxedy tripple in it.

Car is up to 40-41 psi right now on a 6765. No idea on power but at 35 psi it put down 770 on a 4wd dyno jet. No signs of failure. Not pushing coolant. not leaking anything like folks have been telling me copper head gaskets do.

I was going to put one of these on my car and I have heard plenty of leaky stories from my engine builder. He does Chevy, Fords, Mopar along with imports and he has said they are messy and they will leak over time. Then he told me there is a reason guys in like nhra swap out head gaskets after every few passes and its because of that reason. Hope it holds up for you sounds like you got a monster on your hands.

just wondering, since im from a 4g63 background, why wouldn't you use an oem hg on your build? From what I always hear OEM is always the best

People used bored out head gaskets on their builds but I think that's the dumb thing to do. Taking away the fire ring for added displacement equals fail in my book I don't care what anyone says. Will it work? Sure, but why take the chance. The 64 head gasket was never intended for boost and they are much thinner than the 63 head gaskets and would lift much easier even o ringed. So in my "opinion" best way to go is aftermarket even though there isn't a ton of choices out there.

If I had an NHRA budged. I'd change the gasket every day to lol. But so far it hasn't leaked or shown any signs.

I put a new trans/exedy triple in last week and have to baby it for 500 miles. I'll probably go up to 1k miles to let everything break in nicely. I'll keep you guys updated.

I make valve springs for NHRA and trust me if I had their budget I would have done a lot of the same things lol. They spend 90k for valve springs or so I'm told only to change them out after every session.
