EVO 8 ACD options, thinking outside the box.

Hi All, longtime lurker and free thinker. I have an 05 Evo MR with a now dead ACD pump. I guess I should be happy I got 110K out of the original pump. I refuse to give Mitsubishi $2000 for a new pump. I'll spend the extra money with Shep or Jack and convert to a new mechanical transfer case. BUT... I wonder if there is an cheaper and different alternative. Has anyone tried to utilize the EVO X or Ralliart pump? These are far more plentiful used and possibly cheaper new.Even if they mount slightly different, I can overcome that easily. Same goes with modifying some wiring.I can't find any pressure details or other info on any of these pumps.

I also realize these pumps weren't much more reliable then the EVO 8 pumps. I could buy almost 3 used X pumps for the price of one new 8 pump. The chance of getting a low mileage X or Ralliart pump is very good as well being 10 years newer than what I have now. Flame away or please offer up some counterpoints. Thanks in advance!

just rebuild the pump.. it is not overly complicated.. active centre diff is better than the VCU..

The corrosion in my pump is quite extensive. I'm not sure it can be fixed. In looking into this further. The Ralliart AWD system as far as I can tell was taken from the Evo IX. This shows some promise. I can pick up a low mileage (< 50k ) Ralliart pump for less than $700. I will report back any information that I discover.

send pics..

you can use the ralliart pump, evo 8 or 9 pump, as well as evo X pump with ayc outputs blanked off.. hell, if you make blanks for the AYC solenoids you can sell those.. you can also use any japanese or EU evo 7,8,9 pump, again blanking the ayc outputs if nedeed..

connectors on the evo x pump are a bit different but nothing major..

this is one I fixed earlier
