ACT clutch exploded?

As the title says, I'm pretty sure my hdg6 from ACT exploded/disintegrated last night as I did a quick 2nd gear pull... Luckily I was across the street from my apartment so I pulled in and parked it to find a bunch of chunks taken out of the bell housing and oil dripping out of the trans Made for a bad day, but what can you do **** happens. On the plus side now I can send my trans/TC to TRE for a much needed build. Pictures to follow later this afternoon

It was tuned last summer on Buschur's dyno and made 354 ft/lb so not nearly enough to meet or exceed it limitations

Damn. At least its a great time to get the transmission and transfer case redone. What clutch are you considering next?

I am waiting on my stock clutch to slip so I can get the transmission rebuilt. lol.

Run the same clutch & have beat on it pretty good. I think there maybe more going on than a failed clutch assy

I have a comp twin disc that I bought in anticipation of a drivetrain build when MAP had their Christmas sale on comp clutches. As you said, there's no better time than now to get it built which was my thought from the start. Either way it sucks my core might be trashed

Could be, all I know is it was bought and installed through MAP so it was professionally done, and I haven't beat on the car since I've had it and something in there blew apart. Once I get everything apart I'll know more, but since all the damage is inline with the clutch I'm thinking that's what it is

Bittersweet moment, as I checked the oil that sprayed everywhere and it turns out it's gear oil. Hoping the block is good to go, as I was worried it was motor oil. Sucks either way, but the trans is cheaper than a new motor lol I'll keep updating as I find things out.

I'm done with ACT. Nothing against them necessarily, I just haven't had any luck with this clutch with both shifting at high rpm's and staying in one piece obviously... So far they don't seem to want to back their product and help me with cost of a new bell housing and rebuild but we'll see
