Turbo Suggestions?
Turbo Suggestions?
Hi guys, will be replacing my current car for an Evo 8 or 9 and I intend to make some modifications to it. Was wondering if you guys could recommend me a good turbo or turbo setup for around 400 to 500 hp and with as little turbo lag as possible. Thanks in advance.
What fuel do you plan on using to make the power goal? As well as other supporting mods. There are a few different ways to get to that goal, it varies greatly on what fuel you'll be using. And the overall setup will determine responsive the car is vs just making peak power.

Fast spooling 400whp turbo options include:
- HKS7460R, probably the fastest spooling 400whp option, but a bit fragile for track use.
- FPGreen, if spool is the focus you will want the MHI housing, which they no longer offer. Maybe contact FP and see if they can source you an MHI housing and build you one.
- Blouch 1.0/2.0XTR, the 1.0 will spool faster, but require more boost to hit 400whp.
- Full-Race Motorsports EFR 7163 kit, if you don't mind spending $5K+ on a turbo kit, this one is the one to get.
All (pump gas) 500whp turbo options will be laggy on a 2.0 evo.

he wants 400-500whp guys...all great suggestions for 400whp'ish requirement. But if he needs to go higher..then turbo needs to get bigger too. unless you swap to E85. then even 71hta becomes a contender which will be damn fast spooling.
