figured id make an account on here to seek assistance. for sometime ive been hearing this noise around 2500rpm, it does not matter what gear i am in, or how fast i am going, i hear it no matter what and it goes away a little pass 2500rpm. does anyone have any idea what this could be? motor is built 2.3L with no balance shafts. car also drives fine.

 

Probably one of the exhaust shields is loose or something. Those things corrode. Otherwise, some other metal thing is touching something else at just the right resonance.

 

piping hitting somewhere due to vibration?
