These were my plugs. Car has power again but still not hitting over 20 psi and still having misfire.

 

I'm gonna go pick up some boots for my stock coils n then I'll install them n see what happens. Then I'll install the throttle body after that and I'll update along the way.

Another update: I just got done swapping my cop with my buddy's stock coils and the majority of my misfire went away. I still have a little bit of misfire but I think it'll just need to be tuned out. I installed my new tb tonight too so I'll see how it does on a boost leak test tomorrow. Narrowing it down finally 1 item at a time.

 

Is this how they keep the seal in place?

 

a snap ring, if i remember right. Yes.

 

Keep at it.. but you just may need to take it to someone to have them go over it. I am local if you decide to have a fresh set of eyes go over it. My labor is really, really cheap. Sometimes I work for Red Bulls LOL

 

Are you saying that stock coils are better than aftermarket?

 

coils can go bad, stock or aftermarket. Most kits are using OEM toyota coils anyway. I used honda S2000 coils in my setup.

 

Not necessarily, but it rules out a bad conversion job as well as a possible bad coil.

 

Looks like this is just punched on 4 points.

 

My coil on plug kit was made using acura cl coils. They might have gone bad.

 

Is that a stock throttle body???

 

You should check for carbon tracking on the ceramic body of the spark plugs. To ensure no spark tracking to ground, use spark boot release compound on the spark plug ceramic ribs and a little inside the boot. DONT get any on the metal contact on the plug or the terminal inside the boots.

 

that should not be punched...looks like a boost leak source waiting to happen.....
