Update: so I put new plugs and coil boots = fixed the misfire problems. Fixed 99% of my boost leaks! and I added the new full blown throttle body. I just got retuned tonight and the car feels great. The only issue is that my aem boost gauge is reading 22 psi only. Pretty sure my gauge needs to be replaced now. But yea my car feels like it was suppose to feel 4 months ago. Smooth, hits hard, spools quickly, pulls hard and no knock

Update: I maxed out my rod on my wastegate actuator to the point where it can't get any shorter. I finally saw 29 psi after I did this. Idk how long the wastegate will last me or if till survive but at least I am finally seeing my target boost

So everything is basically fixed on my car now. Hopefully this info will help someone in the future.

Are you running a IX WGA on an VIII turbo? I ask because I seem to remember them being different lengths. And if it's a stock WGA, I'm really surprised you were able to reach 29psi. That's waaaaay more than the spring is set for LOL.
With that much preload, it can affect day-to-day, part-throttle driving, but as long as you are seeing desired peak boost, meh.

Ill put a picture of how it looks. I'm using a ebay turbo. So far so good. I think my issue was just the boost leaks and the wg issue.

Can your turbo do 30+ psi?

Off the top of my head, inconsistent boost could be:
Turbo (New means nothing. Ask MAP Also, it's a no-name turbo that you may want to trash, anyway)
WGA
boost solenoid/boost controller
Tune

Maybe someone else could chime in.

Your not using spark plugs for an VIII, are you? They are a different size And tend to "blow out ".
unless you are shooting for 500+whp, I'd also go back to stock heat range ( not part of your problem, but no need to run a cold plug ).

Edit: Read through entire thread. God job getting it back running normal!

I put on a 35r turbo kit and got retuned and the car is running a lot better. I didn't change anything else besides the turbo, licp, exhaust mani. Maybe the smaller turbo and high psi was affecting my low rpms. I think my problem may have also been weather too. But I'm not 100% sure on the weather part bec it didn't happen to any other guys that I know.
