Hello,

Seem to have a problem with my evo7.
My oil temp raises when normal driving, idle to 170 degrees while my coolant temp is normal.
Oil temp 120 degrees before,
i put in mishimoto intercooler and evo 6 rebuild radiator. While installing radiator the thermostat was changed with a new one.

What could be the problem for it to raise to this kind of temp in an instant?
Any help welcome

It'll be in deg F (not deg C)

The rise in oil temp usually lags the rise in coolant temp and they will end up at about the same.

They should both end up at about thermostat temp unless you've got it under a lot of load then the oil temp will creep up a bit.

In fact it's a no brainer because if you google an autometer phantom......................it's in deg F

this is pic of my oil meter.
so if i understand good display say degrees C and sensor is telling its mesurements in degrees F.
how is this possible? Wrong voltage?

Maybe revisit your work. Oil temperature should always be less than 150 C.

i bought the car with this oil temp meter installed. It never ran over 120 degrees C. Put in a new intercooler an radiator. And it raises till 170 degrees C. Today i installed mishimoto oil cooler just to be sure it gets cooled eneugh.
I will test tomorrow.
Next step is new oil temp and oil pressure gauge...

When you were working on the car, you probably messed up the connection to your sending unit.

All gauges need calibrating.

To calibrate and oil or water temp gauge, put the sensor into boiling water and see what it reads.

If they're not calibrated, they're wrong.

Just like fuel pressure and checking against a known good gauge.
