Any new power developments for bolt-on Evos?

Howdy --

I have a Evo IX (original owner) with the basic upgrades listed below:
ETS LICP
WORKS drop-in filter
WORKS downpipe
WORKS racing cat
Fujitsubo exhaust
Walbro 255 pump
GM 3-port boost control/custom road tune

I've been really happy with this set-up for a number of years, and it's been very practical. Other than regular oil/fluid changes it's been a super reliable daily driver.

I've looked into E85, cams, and larger turbos but have never ended up going for them because of the daily driving/reliability trade-offs.

I don't visit this forum often, and most of the engine/tuning info. is way over my head. My question is: are there any new advances that I should consider to give me a bit of a horsepower/torque boost? I've read about speed density (still don't quite understand that one), ported manifolds, and modified throttle bodies. Is there anything like these (or something else) that's a "no-brainer" that I should upgrade to enhance my driving experience (with little-to-no reliability impacts?).

Thanks!

That. Put a 71hta upgrade on. Retune, and enjoy. You will need injectors. 1000cc will be plenty.

Guys - I really appreciate the input, and the 71HTA looks very interesting. What type of MPG impact will there be with the new turbo/1000cc injectors? I'm guessing (hoping) that it'll be similar to my current set-up (i.e. MPG only goes down when I'm deep into the boost).

Thanks,

Yup should run better than a stock evo, You'll just have more fun with your right foot. Assuming a proper tune (See English Racing) cruise mpg shouldn't be affected much if any at all, may even get better MPG if you can keep your foot out of it.

MPG wont really change for cruising. My car actually got better fuel mileage on the freeway after the S2 cams and FP red.

CBRD makes kits that are excellent for daily driving as well as track use... my CBRD BBK FULL with GSC s2's and all other supporting mods (o2 housing JMF tubular intake manifold downpipe testpipe catback injectors intake fuel pump intercooler (Garrett core) was good enough to make 400 wheel horsepower on a mustang dyno on 93 octane gas.. as you may or may not know the mustang dyno reads much lower then a dyno jet.. and I daily drive it.. no issues whatsoever..

Not to mention a TRE (team rip) upgraded stock transmission and a built TRE transfer case is a nice touch to mine..

Just trying to show you the path my car has taken and let you know I drive my car over 90 miles a day 5 days a week... haven't had an issue yet

Is there any data available (dynosheet) because i was interested in that turbo. Is full boost below or above 4300rpm on a fully built engine?

HKS GTII 7460 is all the turbo you'll ever need. I'm amazed we don't see more on Evos in NA.

That Works cat isn't metallic IIRC. You may want to considering upgrading from the ceramic.

S2 cams are the default forum cam of choice on a stock motor.

71HTA is a good turbo.

The GSC S1s are a nice cam that are pretty easy to tune as well so those should be on the list. I care a lot about drive-ablity as well and you'll like them.

Depends whether you do a stroker, or stock displacement, and which compressor you go with (green, red, or black).
