400 WTQ is what most consider the stock rod longevity limit.

Horsepower seems to be whatever you want as long as you manage the torque.

This is more of a guideline than a hard rule though.

Around 450/400 and enjoy it is what I'd do. If you want to be safe, barneyb is spot on.

500whp and 400wtq with a proper setup is a good recipe for fun and reliability.

My DBB FP Black with SS hot side made 554 whp , 429wtq on 93 octane and 50/50 Water/Meth injection. The WTQ although not way too extreme, i want to bring down to 400 or below so I took out the meth and will probably retune to whatever i can squeeze on 93. The previous owner said switching from MHI to SS net him a huge gain.

Back on Topic...

Also sometimes its not just about the “magic” 400 WTQ number, its also where in the RPM range you hit the HP/TQ. That 400 WTQ might be considered limit for the safe side, but you dont want 400 WTQ at 2.5k rpms. The higher in the RPM range the torque is the “safer”.

Here is the Dyno Graph. Per the previous owner the below graph was on a hot humid day and made even more power on cooler days.

It all depends on how well it's tuned.
If it's tuned badly, it'll break at stock levels.

It should be a bit more than 500 at the flywheel.

Yep 500hp and 400tq seems to be the sweet spot. But at the end of the day, you’re tune or tuner is going to determine how long it can live at that power level.

500/400 seems to work for quite a number of friends.
