Clutch fork position issue

Hey everyone.
I am re-installing the transmission in an Evo IV after a clutch change. Everything seemed to go smoothly.
But after latching the TOB in place I saw the fork was sitting too close to the engine side, not centered between the transmission and engine like it was before clutch change.
There is some clearance but if pushed over too much it will hit the bell housing.
The release cylinder would need to be extended - I think since it is off by about an inch or so.

Some images:
Fork before latching TOB, engine side on the left:

TOB before latching:

Latching the TOB - I move the fork and it clicks in place but looks off center too close to engine side. This looks like a problem to me. Cylinder plunger when bolted in place is too far away from the fork.
I can use a pry bar and push the fork towards the engine to pull the pressure plate so it does operate but there is so little clearance of the fork to the housing.

Latched TOB:

Moving the fork to compress the TOB spring clip:

Here it is when I am compressing the clip:

The flywheel and clutch were replaced - just a standard MF04 Exedy flyheel and the mating MBK clutch.
Torqued the pressure plate 13 ft-lbs. Clutch is facing the right way according to marking...not sure what is going on?
Any ideas? I was preparing to drop the transmission again but not sure the best way to fix the problem or what the problem may be?

Thanks!

Nah, not yet. Took the transmission off and re-checked everything.
Wanted to make sure the pressure plate was torqued correctly since that can affect the finger position and maybe where the TOB latches in and fork position.
But it was all good and did not make a difference after carefully re-torquing.
So I bought another clutch to try a couple days ago to try out - this time a Stage 1. It should arrive in a few days.
If it works out then I know the one I have now has some dimension issue for my 4.
If the new one also has the same issue then I need to figure something else out...
