DOGbox transmissions are great race transmissions but can be a pain in the *** for normal street driving. I had one in my previous car and unless you do a WHOLE LOT of full throttle power shifts, the hassles of regular driving with them is not worth it. As always, that is just my opinion and does not express the views of this station or it's affiliates..

I've heard this before but since I've never driven a car with a "dogbox" I'm not sure why. Would someone care to enlighten me? Is it more "difficult" to shift (meaning you have to be more precise)? Anyway, I'm just wanting to learn.

Dogboxes are ridiculously noisy, they're difficult to shift as they take quite a bit of effort and rev-matching every downshift would probably drive you insane if you ever were in moderate traffic.
