Balance shaft timing

Hello I am replacing te toming and balance shaft belts on my car and am following the boostedfilms video. I tried to set my balance shaft the same way the did and also am off about 2 teeth eveytime I put tension on the tining tensioner. Everything is in time until I put tension

If you are having trouble following a how-to, I'd suggest having someone do it for you. It's a pretty straight-forward process... Not sure what else we could tell ya, based on your post.

The service manual is a great help here.

Make sure you have all the excess belt play on the tensioner side beforehand, get it as tight as possible on the oil pump (front balance shaft) and crank. Also, line up the crank and oil pump, and exhaust cam one tooth counterclockwise, when you tension the belt, they will be tdc.
