The plates in the rear limited slip differential were flipped from the factory to pretty much disable limited slip in USDM cars. Mitsubishi knew that if the limited slip function worked as intended, customers would complain. For knowledgeable owners it is easy enough to disassemble the differential and restore function.

ACD is computer controlled limited slip for the center differential. If Mitsubishi could disable limited slip in the rear differential and owners still retain AWD then the same is true for the center differential.
