ATS clutch not engaging?

hello, first of all i'm new to this forum, i have a customer who has this very well modified Evo V, we buy an ATS triple disc carbon clutch for it and it lasted just a few runs, at first it was hard to engage gears but last he ended broken the tranny's syncros (if a dog clutch gearbox has syncros), when we disassembled the clutch we can see the floating discs with warpage and a great blue color on them, the people at ATS said it can be a driving error because of sliping the clutch too much at the starting line, but we know that the car's owner (and driver) is an excellent driver, so there's something that produces that the clutch can't engage adecuatelly, anyone has any clue of what can be causing this?

one more thing did you have the clutch adjusted ? the problem could of been that the clutch was preloaded while the clutch was all the in and it wasnt fully dis.

Clutch was slipped too much plain and simple. Carbon can withstand astronomical temps and not warp. Steel cannot. It sounds like the clutch never even got a beakin period. Carbon on steel clutches dont make sense to me. carbon on carbon is the future of clutches.

instructions state you may need to adjust the clutch pedal after instal, did you do this? Also make sure the rod to the slave cylinder is adjusted correctly.

On the 8 you need to notch the release lever opening in the bell housing per ATS instructions. Not sure about yours but that could cause a lack of full engagement.

Thanks for the replies, no the clutch doesn't sleep nothing when in gear, at first when the clutch was recently installed it worked perfectly, but seems that the problem was no break in period, in fact the car was raced almost inmediatelly. All the pedal adjustments and the rod to the slave cylinder was adjusted too. We're gonna get the carbon plates instead of steel ones so it won't warp again. That's sad considering ATS triple carbon clutches aren't cheap.

ah yeah the break in period is very important on the carbon clutch. Even before you race your suppose to warm it up.

Where in the instructions did it say this? I recently installed mine and had read about having to do that on these forums, but I didn't see anything about it in the instructions. Can anyone send me the instructions on this part?

Also, my clutch rattles really while decelerating in gear at around 3500 rpm. Anyone else's doing this?
