Car turns all 4 wheels in Neutral in Air

Is this normal? If I've got the car up on stands and turn it all, all 4 wheels start turning, very slowly. I can stop the wheels with my hands, and they will start rotating again after that. Car is in Neutral, no gear selected. Is that supposed to happen? What causes this?

It is normal. All my Evo's have done it. I believe it is friction or vibration when the fluid is cold between the input and output shaft.

interesting - thanks for the info, I couldn't wrap my head around why/how the wheels would power themselves in neutral

Yeah Sam. My EvO does that as well. In fact most manual transmission machines (even motorcycles do that)

Something to do w/cold trans fluid & input shafts etc (as noted by BadEvo) (complicated arrangement I dont fully understand)

spinning input shaft swirls around transmission fluid which in turn spins the output shaft making the wheels spin. Its similar to a very inefficient torque convertor in some way.
