boost creep

I just installed an evo 9 turbo. before i was hitting 18-19 with a 8.5 turbo. I have adjusted the actuator that came with the turbo almost all the way loose. I think I have 1 more full turn and it will be loose on the flapper arm. The hot side has the 2 flappers setup. MBC has been removed from the system and im running just wastegate pressure. I am also running a map o2 housing (not dump housing just normal o2 housing). Now if I am getting creep after i adjust arm again can I just swap the 8.5 hot side since they are both 10.5cm housing? My 8.5 hotside has the single flapper system.

I'm not sure the 9 CHRA will fit on the 8.5 housing. Dont think it will, but dont quote me. I have the map o2 housing as well. It creeps like a **** for sure with MHI FP red! But in my case, I'm trying to run 25+ psi so it doesnt bother me really. Did you install the map o2 at the same time you installed 9 turbo?

no i installed it when i did the 9 turbo so its the first time its been on the car. im swapping hot sides tomorrow so if it still does it im just going to assume the o2 housing is to blame. i just wont get on it then till its tuned next month. really going to be mad if it is the o2 housing. it jumps to 16ish psi then just climbs to 24 around 6k then i have to let off cause it hits fuel cut.

Post a pic of the O2 housing you have, or a link to it. If it's built the way I think it is, it may not be letting the dual flappers flow properly.

That one shouldn't cause any creep issues.

Whats the other hot side? You currently have a 10.5 with dual flapper on it?

Yea it is. But it creeped with the HTA71 which is similar to the 9. I have my turbosmart 18psi WGA on there with zero preload on it, and even with my WGDC zero'd out when I do a pull, it will spike to 18-19 psi, then creep all the way to 25 psi.

now that scenario was with the FP red. With the hta71 I had some preload on the WGA, and it would spike to about 23psi, then creep up to about 27.

Sounds like your new WGA is 18psi while your old was 13psi. Do you need a 13psi to fit your 9 turbo?

I thought dual flappers are from evo 8 turbos and 8.5/9 are single flapper versions.
