6 speed housing crack around clutch fork pivot
The casing situation took a really interesting turn yesterday... Found the part number for the bell-housing... and took a look at the pricelist from my parts supplier... list price 1200 EUR... currently on sale at 74 EUR... called to check.. no mistake.. bought one right away... looks like no one fixes the 6 speeds.. LOL..

Bringing this back for a question.....I had exactly the same thing happen to mine. The clutch fork pin holders failed catastrophically on the freeway. nothing else damaged in the clutch housing. My pics look exactly the same, except one of the four attachment points looked dirty indicating that failed first, caused no clutch pressure, and then I probably broke the others getting it off. potentially. The release mechanism, which I have done several times just wasn't working. That assembly was flopping around in there.
@kaj , do you still have any 6 speed housings you don't need?
@kikiturbo , can you share where you got the cases, I could see if there still are any to be found.
Having a difficult time finding a 6speed bell housing.
THanks

OK, I found DB Trans in SoCal to repair the bellhousing and replace some syncros. So at least for now, continue with the 6speed. I never realized that those pin holders molded into the bell housing case are known to fail and a weakpoint. Does anyone know what the specific reason or contributor is for that. Is it more pressure on the clutch mechanism due to upgraded pressure plates, or use, or heat, or?
@kaj , Did you feel like you lost any corner entry and exit control by going to the 5 speed for track use? I find that the 3rd and 4th are perfectly suited for track driving in the 6 speed.
