Running funky

Video is above, but the car runs perfectly fine for 10-30 minutes but all the sudden will just do this. When this happens the car will lose all power and goes lean. I have changed the battery because the battery was bad and thought this was the issue because I drove the car home and to work no issues, but when I went to drive to work the other day right as I was about to get off the highway i encountered this issue again. Don’t want to start just throwing money at it. Would anyone know what this could possibly be. Car does this randomly and once it starts it will keep doing it making it undrivable! Thank you!

@Snowwhiteevo

Yeah, that Vid def shows theres an issue. I see it going way lean & the AEM goes full --------

Wonder if you have an injector hanging up or failing? What inj are you running & when was the last servicing of them?

Now that i think more about it, wonder if its a coil pack failing?

Just my .02 worth

Throwing any codes? What are your fuel trims doing? Maybe a bad 02 sensor

I have the k20 coils but wouldn't the afr stay the same if the coils were failing? I also have 2150s that i just serviced at boost lab last year.

No codes and driving and everything is normal until this randomly happens and everything goes instantly lean.

Hey, i know we are just taking guesses here but maybe the fuel pump should be considered

Do you have equip to run a log?

I was thinking fuel pump too. I was going to try and swap my friends drive around for a while and see if it does the same issue.

No codes huh? Well then without logs its going to be really hard to help you troubleshoot the problem. Missfires show up as lean, because the sensor is looking for oxygen and if you don't get combustion all the oxygen is still left in the exhaust. Examining the spark plugs wouldn't be a bad idea. The circumstances make me lean towards this being a problem with closed loop fueling, which is why I suspect the front narrowband oxygen sensor could be going bad. This should throw a code, its possible if you have been tuned though that these codes have been disabled. Logging would help to determine if this is the case or if its some other mechanical issue.

More context about your car would also help, mods, mileage etc.

Check all the little vacuum lines going to the EGR and fuel vapour caniser.. and attached solenoids. I have had a similar problem where the car would run on 2 cyl from time to time and loose all power..
