Evo 8 Redlines without pressing gas PLEASE HELP

Hey guys ! So the other day i was driving my car pretty hard and upon shifting i noticed that the car keeps redlining without me pressing gas, So i shut the car off and pulled over. Once i tried to start the car again it just started revving all the way to red line without me pressing the gas pedal. I did some research on the forum and thought that it might be the TPS sensor so i ordered a new one. It came in today and after changing it the same thing is happening. I measured the voltage on the sensor and it showed 1.20 without pressing gas(which i assume is too high) and 4.20 with the gas pedal to the floor(the car runs on AEM EMS, maybe thats why the reading are so high when the pedal isnt pressed, maybe its a part of the tune ?). The previous one gave about the same readings before i swapped it out. From what i understand even with readings like that it shouldnt rev all the way to red line.
Unfortunately im in Eastern Europe right now for work and i brought my car with me, so i cant bring it to some reputable shop that knows these cars to get it fixed. So im stuck dealing with it on my own.
Also when i reattach the cable to the throttle body, the throttle body stays a bit open, if it disconnect the cable it shuts fully. Is it supposed to be like that or is it supposed to be fully closed ?
PLEASE HELP !!!!

Throttle plate should be fully closed on Evos. Check your cable to see if it is getting stuck open. Then check your throttle plate inside the throttle body to make sure neither of of the 2 screws that hold the plate on fell off.
Also, post some pictures to help us see what's going on.

Also im gona check the screws tomorrow. From what i remember the throttle body works fine when its off the cable, it opens and shuts just fine. Thank you !

Sounds like your cable is too tight. Although redline seems... excessive...

Thats what im saying, it opens the throttle body, but just a little bit, it shouldnt rev all the way to the red line(i think it was adjusted like that by the tuner to control the idle). Im gona take off the cable tomorrow and try to clean it with brake cleaner and see if it will do anything

there is an adjustment on the plates where the cable is mounted. as they said, i bet that's the issue.

Did your IAC get unplugged or fail? It can get stuck in the open position which will make your idle really high, but I've never had it go to redline.

not sure if its the same thing but,I had it happen to me once when i had my last evo, went to shift and it just started redlining and wouldn't stop, pulled over the throttle body was stuck open a good 3/4 of the way,
forced it back pretty hard and it never happened again,i think it has to do with the throttle body shaft seals when they deteriorate they get stuck onto the shaft,

Hey guys !!! Im back with the fallow up. So you guys were right it was the throttle cable. So this is what happened, the day before all this went down i was adjusting the clutch pedal because it was grabbing way too low, before i even let go of the clutch(exedy twin plate). In order for me to get to the pedal i cut the zip tie that held the battery cable(i relocated the battery to the trunk) and the cable got wedged behind the gas peddle and was pulling on the throttle cable. Thats why the throttle body was slightly open and the sensor gave off weird readings. Got it all fixed up today, thanks to youre guys suggestions. Just gona adjust the TPS tomorrow for a bit of a lower voltage because i set it to 0.73 and it idles at about 1.5 rpm. But other othen that the car runs really great.

Thank you very much guys for helping me out so quick, i was really stressing out last night(i hate when something is wrong with my car, specially when its something that i dont know how to fix). Love you all and Respect for the help !!!!!

Get that TPS set to spec, double check the cable tension, and you should be good to go!
