Interesting stuff, first Ive heard of the Omni sensor issues. My Omni 4bar is ~ 8 years old but I'll add it to my list of something to get a backup of.
What about exhaust cam sensor? Ive never had a bad one but have heard those are possible to fail.
EDIT: Found this from MRFred of him having similarly described issue and it was Exhaust Cam Sensor.
Dallas - Not too sure what a failing cam sensor should look like on a graph. If you look at mine, the actual timing vs target timing stay within 2° of each other. I would think that there would be a bigger split then that if it was going bad. I dont know though.
Thanks for the link too. It says that most people were having the issue at 4500 rpm and I am very close to that at 4000 rpm. I will have to see if Soso will let me borrow his sensor to test! I am going to try a different MAP sensor either way too.

So the thing Im not 100% sure on is what the ECU uses each sensor for. It could be that the crank sensor is giving you that position, the intake sensor is timing MIVEC, and the exhaust sensor is timing spark (Hypothetically speaking, I really dont know on this one). But its possible what the ECU is giving you there isnt the same as whatever the Exhaust sensor is doing.
Seems Mychailo later in that thread had some misfire pop up again and it happened to be injector gunk. Either way, Im going to get some extra sensors to keep in the spares box just in case since mine are 13-14 yrs old now.
Ya that makes sense. Too bad I dont know how it works either! Most of the parts on my car are less then a year old so I am hoping I can eliminate most of the sensors I have added but who knows. I have messed with the cam sensor wires a few times so I will need to double check that the connection isnt loose or has any broken wires. You know the one HUGE downside to the AEM ecu is that it wont throw codes.... You have to log and search for the issue.
I am on an Infinity.... And WTF, you are correct! This makes no sense. Looking at my tune, intake bank 1 is the only sensor being used. Exhaust sensor is turned off. So does this mean that my Mivec is not functioning?
Edit - nevermind. I think Mivec is working. Just the exhaust cam sensor isnt.

My AEM map sensor came in today. With my discount, it was actually cheaper then the OMNI was.... Whatever. I will rig it up for a test and if it solves my issue, I will hard wire it in and mount it correctly. If it doesnt solve my issue, im going to inspect the plugs and do a compression test.
I drove the Evo again today and the issue is getting worse by the minute. Once I hit around 1.5 bar boost, it starts cutting out and wont stop. If I keep it below 1.5 bar, everything works as normal.
