Absolute max?

So I been researching even asked the transmission company. What is the absolute max hp I can run on a built 6 speed trans? Accounting for torque control as well. Jacks trans says 600 is what it can handle. Im pushing 517awhp with 466 torque on the stock 6 speed trans. I'm about maxed out for what the stock trans can withstand. I'm curious cause if it'll handle around my hp goal i might just build my trans vs going 5 speed swap. My goal eventually will be 800 to 900hp. Yes my motor is already built for it.

So. Jacks told you 600 max and now you want to ask the internet if it will handle 8-900?

Not exactly. I've just read alot of post about transmissions holding more power than recommended with controlling torque. For example theres threads/people I've talked to who run 900hp on a stock 5 speed trans and they control the torque. Also read threads of people running a built 6 speed and running 750.

Just looking to see of theres anyone with first had experience with built 6 speed trans and power levels ran.

It's literally exactly what you're doing lol. "Jacks said this, what do you guys think?"

The six speed is fragile.

A "stock" 5 speed isn't very different from a "built" 5 speed that still uses stock gears. You still eventually strip 3rd or 4th gear.

You have to assume that exceeding what is recommended will significantly shorten the life of the trans. Especially the 6 speed.

"Limiting" torque is all well and good, but 800+ is still over 500wtq out the top. And limiting torque makes the car boring to drive. It makes it fell like it builds power with rpm, vs getting into boost and pulling strong for the whole gear.

And a lot of people love to say how much power they made on this or that stock part, when the reality is it made that power once on the dyno, and then gets cruised around.

You're pointlessly playing with fire going for this level with a 6 speed. Even in a five speed I recommend a billet 4th gear at minimum when going for over 800whp in a car that will get used. But a billet 3rd is also a good idea.

Yes this is my daily spring/summer/fall car. Definitely gets driven often during those seasons. I also have my 7 month old twins that are drove around in it. No i don't accelerate fast or hard when they are in the car with me.

So as I figured its best to just go 5 speed swap with a built 5 speed trans and not even bother monkeying around with the 6 speed. I'm pretty much maxed with my setup as is.

I agree controlcontrolling torque is no fun. I have a blast with my setup as it is for the short time I got to enjoy it at full tune. I apologize for thw stupid or redundant question. I'm learning as I go with the evo. I came from a long run with dsm prior to the evo.
