Anyone know anything about Works?

I was looking at the Works website and it's amazing that they offer a 3yr waranty on their parts... .

Anyone know anything about them, i.e. reputation, reliability?

Anyone else warant their work?

All i know is that they do a hell of a job advertising...

I parked at the the farthest end of the parking lot at a shopping mall (serramonte... closer to good guys) and when i came back there were a few flyers on my windshield...haha

From the posts that i've seen on here, they seem to be a reputable shop and i believe they are a paid vendor on here...

Yeah, I've seen their banner on the site and read the SuperStreet write-up on the Works Evo8... which basically didn't say much except they exist and that the car performs better.

Works has some generally accepted quality products. In fact the only problem that people usually state when talking about WORKS is they are sometimes hard to reach or their product delivery is slow.

They do NOT compete on price however, rather...they try to go for the "high end" market and produce quality over any sort of price break.

There have been a number of threads about Works. The most recent I remember was a question about Works vs Buschur vs Vishnu. A quick search will find you plenty of info. You cant go wrong with works. The have high quality and well researched products. Not cheap, howver.

If you located in the bay area, check them out in person.

WORKS seems to have great customer service - have yet to hear a complaint about the way they deal with customers.

If you're looking at warranties, Vishnu also has a 5 year warranty on their parts which is pretty awesome.

Upper price range parts. Very good quality parts. A little hard to get a quick response, but that's because they're busy working .

The biggest thing that separates Works from others: they tune and manufacture parts only for the EVO.

I'm running their P2 flash and ran the P1 before that... I'm very happy with their products, but as was stated before, they are very pricey. If I were starting up now, I'd go Buschur all the way and never look back. You won't beat Buschur dollar for dollar in quality/service/out right bang for the buck... but that's getting off topic.

We’ve added several WORKS products to our EVO and every piece has performed flawlessly. Customer service, well, they have a ways to go there. If you can get their attention they will see to it that you’re taken care of, if you can get a hold of them.

They are pricey but I think for some of the items, based on quality, fit and function, they are O.K. Other items like the intermediate pipe are overpriced (almost $500 dollars after tax and shipping) for 5 whp, come on.

And don’t waste time asking technical questions on their forum; you’ll more than likely never receive an answer. Now that we race the car that’s just not going to cut it anymore. Are you reading this WORKS, get off the dime and check your forum on a daily basis, your losing good customers.

I originally came down to two choices Buschur Racing and WORKS and like Zeus we too will go with Buschur Racing for any future power needs. I think BR has more of a “blue-collar” approach to the EVO and most owners can relate to that more in both function and price.

Good luck with your mods.

Rick

I really like that... It really sums it up. You can go out and spend more money on something that maybe "looks" better than BR's product, but your not going to buy much (if any) more performance. Works parts are first rate though. Grade A material. Just at a grade AAA double platinum price.

I had the P2,axelback,and throttle body from Works and was happy with the gains. If you want to compete with Stis and M3s those mods will get you there. Add the Works cams and you should handle the Sti and M3 w/o much of a problem. However,if you want to compete with the big boys Vipers,zo6s, and Cobras my Stage 1+on race gas from Vishnu is the ticket. I like the 100 oct/91 oct flexability that Shiv's settup gives you. You live so close to both Works and Vishnu I would go with which one suits your needs. Good power or Crazy power. A no lose situation. I will stay with Vishnu as I want a crazy fast car and like the custom tuning approach that gives you extra power and safety.

I have the P2, axelback and throttle body from Works and am very happy with the gains and their service. My only complaint it that I want to do more to my car, but I'm waiting on them. I like the research they put into their parts, but I have been waiting for quite a while for their downpipe. Same with their intake, etc, etc. I'm close to just getting the Buschur turboback exhaust and going from there...
