Evo 8 Overbore
Why so deep on the overbore? Normally its .20 over unless it has been done already then .30 to .40. But to answer your question I had my talon with a .40 overbore being it was done and need to be redone and I made well over 500 to the wheels.
Ok if that is the case then depending on what the cylinders look like have it rehoned and call it a day. If the cross hatching is still good or looks good your machinist will let let you know or you can ask him which would be the best to do. In my case my stuff needed to be redone the cross hatching was gone someone forgot to put oil squirters in and it ruined the walls pretty bad. Was an expensive oops lol

I am aware of that but the car at the time had squirters, and I never plugged the holes so it just drained. Idk if it was a ring issue or what but **** got ****ed up and had to redo everything it was tore up pretty bad. No oil to the head or turbo being it was head fed.

Walls don't look to bad really. Maybe just another hone depending on how deep those scratches are on the cylinder walls are again I would talk to the machine shop and see what they recommend.

The 5.0 is N/A though, what about the ecoboost engines? By not needed are you talking about engines that only see short bursts of power (Drag racing / highway queens) or are you also including engines that see extended operation at high boost (track cars)?
Yep I am guilty. I didn't realize that they were not plugged, put the oil pan on thinking they were blocked off got it together in the car car fired right up and then churp churp churp aww wtf.

They are simply no needed with an appropriately engineered forged piston, and for the reasons I already listed they don't even work with most aftermarket pistons.
