Turbo Decision

Hi

Stuck between purchasing
An FP Black vs a FP ZERO BB

Fp black would be brand new from manufacturer and whatever comes with it.
$Base Price

Fp zero is coming from a local car of which blew a rod and turbo has around 1000 miles.
$2500.00
Which includes FP Cast Manifold
Fp Oil Feed Line
Custom Lower Intercooler Pipe
Custom Dump
Fp Intake Heat Coated

Engine has rods and and Pistons , Cams
Fresh rebuild for the most part.
Transfer Case is rebuilt
5 Speed Rebuilt with Quaife Center DIff
Pump Gas

Car is currently on stock turbo , Stock Injectors and Stock pump
I enjoy driving this car on highway to the shore and what not.
Care more about reliability and what the turbo likes.
I do not want to buy something that doesn't like certain abuse since im unfamiliar as to what BB vs JB exactly reacts .

Thank you.

What are your power goals?

Check out this thread, I ask the similar/same question.
https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...h-buy-new.html

Also, if you end up getting the used FP zero please clean/replace the oil feed as you don't want any foreign material stuck in the line and end up in your motor.

Thank you,

Can't say i have a "power goal".
I'm more conservative than i am for pushing every ounce out of my engine.

Id like to think 550-600? I don't know what exactly is ideal for this setup.

The zero makes 750+ and tapers. I'd vote for a MHI housing red/black on Ethanol to have a fun 600-700whp street car with a more usable powerband.
The SS housing is great for making top end power but the MHI delivers more of what makes the Evo a fun daily.
For a 2.0 I would do the red , If you have a 2.2/2.3 a black will make a bit more .
