Kinugawa sts advanced ball bearing turbo

i finally pulled the trigger and ordered a Kinugawa tdo6sl2 20g ball beairng turbo with the new STS blade they started offering recently. I plan to use this thread to review the turbo in case anyone in the future might be interested in one of their turbos. the turbo arrives in about a week so I will post again once it is here.

Is it an Evo 8 or Evo 9 turbo? Also interested to see how it works out for you.

Turbo arrived in the mail today arrived 2 days earlier than expected which was cool. Packaged very well and the turbo looks awesome. Ripped the car apart today so should hopefully be installed by end of the week.

ok so I got the turbo fully installed.I also intalled a o2 dump and had to modify my exhaust since the old o2 housing was welded to the downpipe so the whole exhaust is one piece from the muffler to the o2 housing. Whoever did that is an idiot Anyway, i had some leaks which installation error but I'm pretty sure I got them figured out. Took it out for a spin without the exhaust while it was being welded and it didn't smoke so at least isnt blown at 0 miles haha. I will drive for around 20-30 miles before hitting any boost/ tuning it so I can "break it in then after I tune it I will update you again.

Ok I have 200 miles on the turbo so far and I have it turned up to 16psi, it is super laggy which is understandable for a variety reasons(boost controller not set up exactly right, inefficient boost level, etc.)
but once it does spool up it pulls really hard like crazy hard for 16psi on 91 pump gas.it pulls just about as hard as my Evo 7 turbo did on 22psi. I will get it turned up to around 25psi this weekend and hopefully update you guys again

Anyone else see the irony of Kinugawa sending an anti-counterfeit tag with their product !?
