25K on Gates Timing Belts and WP - Inspection

So its been about 8 years and 25k since I had my timing belt done by a specialty shop. I bought the full mitsu bearings/tensioner kit with Gates Racing belts and WP. I figured I would replace these belts due to age with OEM and get a chance to look things over.

I found two bolts missing on the timing cover. Where are the holes in my tensioner bearing? Looks like the WP is starting to weep already too; I guess I'll throw in a WP. Just street miles with 6-7 hours of track time.

Heres the section of the manual that notes how to remove the timing belt (that was your question?)

Thanks for the quick and helpful reply. What i meant was there were literally no holes on the front of my tensioner bearing; tough to take a picture. I took it off and it appears that it was installed backwards.

Can I run a used bearing in the opposite direction, or should it be replaced?

This is the first ive heard about that bearing being able to be mounted backwards.

Based on that, i think most of us would just say its best to replace w/new

As old as the tensioner is, I'd replace.
installed backwards. Wow. I don't even want to know how they set the tension.

Though it's survived this long, I'd swap everything out and install it correctly, just to be safe. You are very lucky. They obviously had no idea what they were doing.

Yeah it looks like the seating depth for the bearing is the almost the same on both sides of the shell so I guess it worked lol.

A full kit sounds like the best idea. Thanks.
