Cool EVO VIII vibrating noise

I need to know if anyone knows what a noise is ; which comes from under the hood ; which by the way only happens when it rains , it sound like a motor mount is loose or something . vibrating of metal does any one know what this problem would be . It doesn't happen long enough to get out of the car and find it . (Imagine your car with an exhaust on it and the pipe is vibrating against the bottom of the car ) ok ten times worst can it be the transmission or is it something else ? If some one knows what the problem is hit me up yellevo on the evo forum or at DSMBB1@aol.com

Mine has weird noise when my AC is on, seems like since the AC puts extra load on the engine it actually made enough vibration to create the noise. Not sure what is vibrating.

I have the same problem. Oddly enough it started happening after i got my HKS DP and UR test pipe installed. It seems to happen when I let out the clutch and rev to about 1800 RPM. What I gather from your post Budlong is that this is normal and I shouldn't worry about?
Thanks,
Josh

My heatshield on the hood was loose once that caused some vibrating noises. See if that's it.

I have the same exact problem. The sound especially comes on when I turn on the AC. Has anyone solve this problem?

YellowEvo,

Do you have an aftermarket 3 inch exhaust? If you do, that is likely the culprit. The tolerances are tight for a 3 inch exhaust and when it rains, the rubber hangers get wet and the exhaust moves slightly back and forth on the hangers and hits in spots where the tolerances are tight (rear diff, bearing carrier for driveshaft, oil pan, tranny, etc). Took me a while to figure this out. Hope it helps.
