Worth porting skunk 2 intake manifold?

Good morning.

so here’s the back story. I have a fully built 2.0 from bushur with a gen 2 6266 and made 707awhp on e85. It was assembled and installed by AG Autosports and tuned by Crispeed. Im kicking myself for not doing it when it was built, but I’m still on the stock intake manifold and throttle body. I literally just got done ordering a skunk 2 mani and TB. The description claims there’s room for porting. Is it worth having it sent out to be ported? Let’s say it’s $200 for porting plus shipping. Is the difference going to be another 5-10hp or greater? How much are we estimating I’ll get just from bolting on the manifold and throttle body without the porting and getting it retuned? I would prefer to bolt on and go and AG Autosports says they never send those out for porting either.

thanks in advance for the advice

Ha we are in the same exact boat, Ag built my car too and I regret not putting a skunk 2 mani on it, was thinking about porting as well. But I think that manifold alone will be worth just installing and retuning. Just get a 70mm TB and call it a day.

haha no way, yea I ended up ordering a skunk 2 with their TB from MAPerformance. Was a great deal with a 10% off. Sucks to have to pay for a retune but that’s my own fault. What are your mods and how much power are you making?

looking forward to see your results so I can base my decision lol hurry up and retune.

I’m a 2.2 on gen1 6266 with all the odds and ends, made 800. Speed tuned as well.

would like to compliment the bigger motor with the intake mani so that’s next. Post your gains when you get it done!

At your power level the gains would be much greater than say if you were on a stock turbo.

Just got my car back yesterday. The addition of the unported skunk 2 manifold and TB gained me almost 60awhp. They did have to upgrade my fuel system from the buschur double 255 to their AG Spec 450’s. Car feels amazing, wish I did this when I had it built!

STM tuned ran a 8.0 with their Skunk 2 ported and I believe a 74mm TB. So yeah I'd say its probably worth it.
