I've been tossing up to get rid or my 6 speed for a stronger 5 speed but I got quoted an Albins gear set to go in my 6 speed which came to more than a 5 speed gearbox price, does anyone have any experience of this Albins set-up for their 6 speed?

 

Good day I would like to say that I am new to this Field but I am trying something I turbo my single cam 4g93 engine this engine was never turbo I did it an I am running rich the engine has the original injectors an ECU an air flow so I am wondering if I use a turbo ECU if that would help with running rich an what turbo ECU I can use to help solve my problem thank you

running 420 hp at 470nm this is equivalent mustang over here in Au. torque ramps up real quick and I'm feeling it will only take so many track sessions where I do long pulls in 4th before i do the gear in. I would either look at the Albins or got for a 5 speed box

 

I have the gearset. My car makes 413whp on 93 octane and 498whp on e85. I also have the taller mfactory final drive. I do not have reliability data for you as I only have driven my car about 1200 miles since I put this transmission in, and that was in 2014.

 

I have it too, love it but haven’t had the opportunity to get on track again. Heat will always be your main enemy, unless you have too much torque

 

is the gearset as strong as a 5 speed and does it make more noise than stock?

Also does it change gears as smoothly as stock?

Sorry, you won’t receive many replies by putting your questions in someone else’s thread. It’s considered a bit rude in most all forums.

I’d steer you over to the tuning sub forum or general forum here in evomn. You are definitely going to run into someone who’ll be able to help. You can start your very own thread there & more people will see it & reply to you.

It maybe an expensive ordeal you’re undertaking, with something like a stand alone ecu. If no one here can help you may need a professional tuner to set your ECU up & tune it.

 

I don’t know if the Albin gears are as strong as the stock 5 speed as I have not seen destructive testing results. Though I doubt they are only based on gear width and the ability to fight heat issues. The Albin gears are a bit louder than stock, but not as bad as the Shep gearset. And they shift very smoothly
