2003 Mitsubishi Lancer evolution stalls/won’t idle when warm.

Hi guys I have a 2003 Mitsubishi Lancer evolution it has some mods such as exhaust intake and cams.

When I bought the car recently it ran perfectly when cold and hot. I’ve noticed when the car gets to operating temperature it will go to zero RPM and the car will stall out. I have to flutter the gas pedal to keep it alive. It hits boost perfectly on cold starts but from 1-3k RPMS it’s starts to hesitate going into boost after its warm? Almost as a misfire but only between 1k and 3k RPMs?

Checked compression. Cleaned MAF. Took it to the shop and they said they can’t figure it out...

if you guys have any guesses on what it could be it would be super appreciated.

Get it to an evo specialist shop. If you are mechanically inclined, start troubleshooting by doing a boost leak test, inspect the spark plugs, and check fuel trims. Anything > +-5% is a problem.

Definitely do a boost leak test. It sounds like a leak that is more pronounced when warm. Maybe a rubber coupler? Or TB? Only way to tell is to boost leak.
