What is the 4.11 drive ratio?

I was last in the Evo game about 13yrs ago. Had an 03 that was pretty modded for back then. Shep trans, cams, ported head, valves and valve springs, evo ix turbo, suspension, etc.

I'm looking to get back in the game, but so much has changed. The cars have high mileage. Some really abused. Some not as much. The builds seem pretty crazy. Built short blocks, heads, etc.

A common mod I am seeing is a change to a 4.11 final drive. Why the change? I've looked and looked for info on here, but can't find anything.

Is the 4.11 taller or shorter than stock? Are there particular applications in which this would be better: street pulls, drag, auto-x, or track? Is there a particular horsepowet point where this ratio might be more advantageous: 400whp, 600whp +

Thank you in advance

4.11 final drive is 10% taller.

I personally wouldn't use it in a car with less than 600wtq.

For between 5-600wtq, the 4.31 is nice, and below 500, keep the stock final drive.
