Question Spark Plugs

what plugs would work great on the evo?
I'm looking to run 9's for everyday driving and use 11's for racing.
someone was telling me something about resistors or something.that the plugs have to be resistor type etc...

what plugs are u guys using?
if anyone is using 9's, which ones are they?

thanks.

Are you talking heat ranges? If so, those sound a bit extreme. USDM stock heat range is 7 and (using NGK's scale), two steps colder for daily driving would almost certainly foul. I'd stick with the stock heat range for 20 PSI (1.4 bar) or less and step up to an 8 (maybe a 9) if you're running higher levels.

man 7's are cold enough... the only reason i'd drop to 8's is if i were to get on the bottle with boost or run a stupid amount of boost... to get 7's to run hot is going to take alot ...

7's are stock, with 19psi the car comes a step colder with a small gap ... traditional DSM plugs are 6's with .44 gap

NT DSMs were gapped to .044, but turbo models have the same spec as the EVO: .028-.031. The BPR7ES would be the copper equivalent of the OEM iridium plug.

thing is....I am on the bottle.
I think I read that you should inc. by 2 points for every 50hp shot or something like that.
but thanks for the advice...i think i'd use the 7's for daily driving.

btw....what about the resistor thing?

Do Not gap it at .44 are you nuts....where are you getting these numbers

The gap should be at .28............. even stock it about .32 but .28 it the over all best.... and that comes from Jeff Hill who is a top tuner in the 4G63 world

resistor (R) plugs are needed, without them the radio will be another monitor of engine rpm. might mess with the ecu too?
