Hi can the Evo 4 4g63 timing belt be replaced with out timing tools

 

Define "timing tools"

There are some tools that are not ABSOLUTELY needed but you will have to be very creative. If there is one i feel you must buy, its the eccentric pulley tool. Its cheap and so much easier with it. I tried it without it and gave up and bought it.

 

cam locking tool is super nice but it can be done without it using tie wraps to hold the belt to the camwheels. The tool for tightening thetension on the bearing is highly reccomended, esp if you are doing it with the engine in the car.

 

We did it with zip ties and the eccentric tool with no issues. We are first timers too...out of the car.
