How much can the stock internals handle?

Pardon my n00b question, but what are the stock internals good for in HP?

I did a search, but apparently I'm not using the right words.

TIA

I think some guys has pulled 400-500 at the wheels out of stock internals.

Well as long as it never knocks, more then pump gas can support.

The Stock internals are very good and I think the real week link would be the rods or rod bolts before anything else. As far as making big power but if you knock at those levels your piston landing is going to break first.

Vishnu's Red car with 3037s in it was making 500whp++ on a Dynojet for a long time.

People upgrade internals only to substain more detonation then stock componites.

The real question is strenth of the metals used in the stock motor.

The question is... are the rods going to handle it. If you throw a rod, you're going to be calling the bank.

I'd say, it could handle WAY more than you tranny, clutch, and drivetrain could. So I guess the real answer is, however much you spend on that stuff is how much it could put out!

if yor going to spend the money to make considerably more power than stock, ie turbo kit, ecu, fuel system. why not spend a little extra for new rods and pistons? wouldn't they only cost about $1200?

Pretty much all of the tuners are in the 500whp range on race fuel. I don't know if running that much power all of the time on the street will last though. I would spend the extra on the forged pistons and rods along with ARP fasteners to go along with it. Bushcur has rods and pistons for $925.

time to ressurrect a thread once more. I am planning on doing a full internal build to just have a stronger engine period.

wiseco pistons, manley rods, arp headstuds and gsc spring, titanium retainer combo. am i missing something? Will this provide to be more than enough for 500 hp? My goal is 500 hp/380 tq.

Thanks

We have a few cars on just arp rod bolts making 500 at the wheels. I would not go much beyond that
