I want to know too!
1/2 fill sounds like it would be OK. @JohnBradley might be able to chime in here

Heres a vid from JRP noting the diff between the full & 1/2 fill (starts at 7:45)

Not sure how you feel about Roni, but he's been building 4G63's for a no. of years and has an opinion!

He also has a Vid on how to fill the block (from his point of view)

If the tune up is good and its not making over 1100whp+ I don't see the need for a filled block. The engine in the sequential car has over 24K miles on it from 800-1100hp and over a thousand runs on it. OEM block,no concrete. Low compression/tuned professionally.

A filled block is our grand fathers did 50 years ago when engine blocks were terrible beyond stockish levels.

I see your point.
But does it hurt to do a 1/2 fill?
Is there gains doing a 1/2 fill for block rigidity and ring seal?

Just not needed in my opinion. We have strong blocks , good fuel, modern ECU's.
I would be more concerned with the machine work, rings, ring gap etc.
