Evo 9 mr slips in 1st gear but not in 2nd or 3rd?
Is it the transmission or clutch?

if the rpms are going up... and it aint goin no faster... then it dont matter what gear its in,...
its the clutch.

How many miles on the clutch (what clutch as well) & what WHP are you at? Try a 4th gear pull, rolling into hard. Bet it slips there as well!

I made a post and saw your reply to this one. i tried your suggestion and sure enought RPMs shot up from any gear in a rolling start. So i think it is my clutch.

Good reply and suggestion for trouble shooting.
