1st and 2nd Gear Movement/Popping Out

1st and 2nd Gear Movement/Popping Out

I had my transmission rebuilt by TRE because it jammed in 3rd gear, but before that I was having massive issues with 2nd gear popping out of gear fully. After the rebuilt, with brand new synchros etc, the transmission is still moving around quite a bit.

I'm gonna pop the center console off to replace the shifter base bushings but I'm now starting to suspect an issue with the cable. Just wanted to check with anyone on this before I start digging into it, but the transmission itself is basically new.


Anyone have any ideas on this? Really starting to suspect the cables.

hi , have you managed to solve the problem , got the same problem , 2nd gear pops out on high rpm , I changed the shifter cable bushings and all that , new synchros , but problem still there , not sure if it’s the new clutch I installed (ACT extreme ) or the new transmission fluid

mine didn't pop out at high rpms, normal driving.

my issue was the little snap ring being out of place - do a violent downshift from 2nd to 1st (almost pop the clutch) and it should force the snap ring in place.
