Unused Oil Port?

Trying to figure out how I am going to get my Oil Temp sensor mounted in...does anyone know of an unused oil port I can get an adapter for or how people are hooking their oil temp gauges.

Thanks!

heres mine...

You can use an NPT fitting to adapt your sender (mine is up on the firewall out of the way). I used the other port for my oil temp gauge.

Greddy Oil Filter Block Part # 12002801

Was thinking about using this...but worried that the filter would be too low to the ground. What do you guys think?

dont use that filter block...its not needed

you need a 3/8" npt to 1/8" npt adapter bushing - shouldnt be more than $5 ea

3/8" npt is what fits in the oil filter flange (both ports) I do not know what size the Defi senders are...

In my opinion the fitting is 3/8" BSPT, not NTP. They are different.

The Defi oil pressure sensor is 1/8" BSPT, while the temp sensor is available in either 1/8" BSPT or 1/8" NPT (different part numbers).

McMaster-Carr sells 3/8 BSPT to 1/8 BSPT bushings for $3 each. To permit the temp sensor to fit you will need to drill out the bushing.

Well I was asking more about the Oil TEMP but I might put in a pressure sensor as well.

I went ahead and bought the greddy oil block adapter after getting under my car and deciding that would be the best course of action for a newb. The kit is very well made and has 3 taps in it. 2 1/8 size and a larger one that was labeled "MP" something. All instructions were in Japanese...but you dont need them. Hooked up everything and works like a champ. The filter is lower than before but is not the lowest thing on the underside. I have no fears of it scraping or anything...in fact it looks like it was meant to be that height anyhow.

Oil temp sensor works and I average around 90 C in daily driving and 100 C or so when I drive it hard. Thanks for the tips guys
